Another piercing that requires just the right anatomy, the fourchette is a less popular piercing among the general population of women. The jewellery is placed over the perineum from the bottom of the vaginal opening. Most women do not have an extra flap of skin tissue here, but for those that do, this is where the jewellery is inserted.

Recommended jewellery for the fourchette piercing is a 10 or 12 gauge captive bead ring or curved barbell. Estimated healing time: 8-12 weeks.
